Welcome to Young Active Professionals(YAP)! It is the newest addition to Carolina Outdoor Adventures community. YAP was formed to provide an opportunity for people ages 18 to 33 to connect and stay active through team sports, outdoor adventures, social events and group travel. The YAP event organizer team is made up of people, like yourself, who are active, friendly and energetic young professionals. YAP event organizers are committed to working together as a team to build the young professional community within Carolina Outdoor Adventures. We offer a wide variety of recreational activities ranging from outdoor adventures and team sports to group travels and social events to Young Professionals of Charlotte, NC metro area. Our events are group oriented, providing you a safe as well as fun way to explore life and meeting lots of people who share your interests.
Our Events are organized in five main category: Sports, Social, Outdoor Adventures, Group Travel and Community Service. Too see list of fun activities that we do click HERE. With over hundred events planned each month, and something planned every day, you can never get bored with the club.
Event Cost: Most CHOA's outdoor and sport events are free to members. Group travel is with substantial group discount. Other social events are at cost. CHOA provides sport, outdoor equipment, and facility so members can try out different activities without spending money on equipment that they might not use again. We also have many affiliate outfitters that offer exclusive equipment rental and service discount. With gas prices sky-rocketed we encourage members to carpool and share gas expenses.
Activity Leaders: Our outdoor trip leaders have extensive wilderness experience. Many have advanced wilderness instructor and first-aid certification. CHOA allocates a large portion of the budget for leadership training and development. CHOA's outdoor director Tito is a professional mountaineering and outdoor guide. Tito possesses multiple wilderness, mountaineer and rock climbing certification.
Our Members are mostly busy Young Professionals but very active and adventurous. Due to constant influx of new members our membership demographic changes month to month.
Our Mission Statement: Our goal is to get people more active in the community, and the outdoors. We are a group that wishes to include all people and encourage teamwork, and acceptance. Our charter is to help people develop solid, lasting friendships, gain new experiences and ultimately bring more enjoyment into everyone's lives.
