Let`s head back to Stone Mountain.... I go back to this location a lot, mainly because it`s a chance to hike in the mountains but also VERY close to Charlotte. Drive time from Huntersville is less than 1 1/2 hours.
We`ll hike the Stone Mountain loop with a side trip up to Wolf Rock for a total of 7.5 miles. We won`t be rushing, HOWEVER we will be aiming for a good steady pace; so I wouldn`t recommend this for a first time hike.
Bring trail snacks and plenty of water. Also I recommend hiking boots for this. End time is a guesstimate depending on how fast the group moves, but we will definitely be back by dinnertime in my opinion. Could be earlier, could be later. Please respect my inability to tell the future any better than that ;)
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash!
