A Decade of Academy Award Winners: 1944

"Going My Way"

Join us this winter on Sunday nights as watch and discuss each year`s Best Picture of arguably the most tumultuous decade in history. As the world moves from war to peace to cold war, how do the year`s top films reflect this time period? We`ll discuss this along with the actors, directors and other points of interest as we watch what the industry voted it`s best.

Going My Way, starring Bing Crosby won seven out of ten academies that it was nominated for including best actor, supporting actor, and screenplay. This movie was the largest drawing picture of 1944 and put Crosby on the way to making him biggest box office draw for the rest of the 40`s.

The location is at the Unity Center of Spiritual Living in the University area.

Bring a drink and a snack to share. I got the popcorn. You may bring adult beverages.
